What Is S7, and Why Is It in a Men's Daily Supplement?

Green coffee beans, green tea leaves, turmeric root, tart cherries, blueberries, broccoli and kale arranged in a row on a pale stone surface

Turn a men's supplement label over and most of it reads as you would expect: zinc, magnesium, a B-complex, a few herbs you have heard of. Then there is a line that just says S7. No plant name, no vitamin letter. It is easy to assume it is filler or a marketing flourish.

It is neither. S7 is a specific ingredient with a specific job, and it is in Foundations Men's Health Support for a reason. Here is what it is and why it is there.

What S7 actually is

S7 is a branded blend of seven plant-based ingredients, developed by the ingredient maker FutureCeuticals. The seven are:

  • green coffee bean extract
  • green tea extract
  • turmeric extract (a colourless form)
  • tart cherry
  • blueberry
  • broccoli
  • kale

If that list looks like a sensible shopping basket, that is partly the point. Each of these plants is rich in polyphenols and other phytonutrients that researchers have studied for years. S7 combines small, measured amounts of them into one ingredient that can be dosed in milligrams rather than handfuls.

One thing it is not: a nitrate. Beetroot powder and similar ingredients work by supplying nitrate that the body converts. S7 takes a different route, which is the next part.

What it is there to support: nitric oxide and healthy blood flow

Your body makes a gas called nitric oxide. Its best-known job is signalling the smooth muscle in blood vessel walls to relax, which supports healthy circulation. That matters for the obvious reason that blood carries oxygen and nutrients to working muscles, and it matters day to day for general cardiovascular function.

The body's own nitric oxide production depends on a few things, including the health of the cells lining your blood vessels and how much oxidative stress they are dealing with. S7 was built around the idea that a mix of plant antioxidants can help support the body's natural nitric oxide production, rather than adding nitric oxide from outside.

The research behind it is early. The ingredient maker's own small pilot study, in eight healthy adults, looked at nitric oxide levels after a 50 mg dose and reported an increase compared with placebo. That is an encouraging start, not a settled body of evidence, and it is fair to read it that way. What it does explain is why S7 is usually dosed low: the blend was designed and tested at around 50 mg, not grams.

Why it belongs in a men's daily formula

A lot of what active men want from a daily routine has a circulation piece to it: steady energy through the afternoon, endurance during a workout and recovery afterwards. Blood flow is not the only factor in any of those, but it is one that sits underneath all of them.

In Foundations Men's Health Support, S7 sits in the MantraVive™ core blend next to CoQ10, BHB, a full B-complex and antioxidant vitamins. Those ingredients lean towards cellular energy. S7 adds the delivery side: helping maintain the healthy blood flow that carries oxygen and nutrients to where that energy gets used. The formula also has two other blends, Novavirili™ and the Adaptivra™ adaptogen blend, so S7 is one part of a wider routine rather than a standalone pump ingredient.

Do you need to time it around a workout?

In pre-workout powders, S7 is usually taken 20 to 30 minutes before training. That makes sense for a product built around one session.

A daily men's formula has a different goal. It is there for the other 23 hours as well, so S7 is taken as part of your regular packet with food and water. Consistency is what a daily routine runs on. If you train at a fixed time and want to experiment with taking your packet an hour or so before, that is a reasonable thing to try, but you do not need to plan your day around it.

People sometimes ask about caffeine, because green coffee bean and green tea both contain some naturally. If you are very sensitive to caffeine, it is worth knowing those two plants are in the blend.

Who should check with a doctor first

S7 is made from familiar food plants and is generally well tolerated. Even so, talk with your healthcare provider before starting any supplement that supports circulation if you:

  • take prescription medication, especially for blood pressure, heart health or blood thinning
  • are managing an ongoing health condition or have surgery coming up
  • are sensitive to caffeine

Never stop or change a prescribed medication in favour of a supplement.

The short version

S7 is seven plant extracts, from green coffee bean to kale, combined into one small-dose ingredient. It is there to help support the body's own nitric oxide production and the healthy blood flow that depends on it. In Foundations Men's Health Support it works alongside CoQ10, BHB and the B vitamins, so energy production and delivery are both supported in the same daily packet.
